Building engineering is an interdisciplinary engineering discipline that offers a general engineering approach to the planning, design, construction, operation, renovation, and maintenance of buildings, as well as with their impacts on the surrounding environment. The discipline requires pertinent knowledge integrated from traditional well-established disciplines:

  • Civil engineering for building structures and foundation;
  • Mechanical engineering for Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning system (HVAC), Plumbing and for mechanical service systems;
  • Physics for building science, lighting and acoustics.
  • Electrical engineering for power distribution, control, and electrical systems;
  • Chemistry and biology for indoor air quality;
  • Architecture for form, function, building codes and specifications;
  • Economics for project management.

The Building Engineering Academy is a unique employer-led initiative which aims to develop the skills of employees across Egypt through new and innovative approaches to delivery which meet the needs of local businesses and raise the qualification and motivation levels of their employees.

The aim of the Building Engineering Academy is to recognize and nurture talent. The academy offers structured training programs to new and existing BECG employees – from recent graduates to seasoned professionals.
The Academy will help to develop potential and create our next generation of leaders and Operatives.

With a partnership which comprises International Engineering Business Academy (IEBA), American Certification Institute (ACI) and International Purchasing and Supply Chain Management Institute (IPSCMI) in DE, USA as well as private training providers, business support agencies and key local employers, the Building Engineering Academy has developed a brokerage system which streamlines the process of sourcing training and leaves businesses free to get on with doing business. The Construction Academy is engaged in ensuring that young people wishing to enter the industry and apprentices have the greatest opportunity to learn and develop, through its progressive new internship scheme and a unique apprentice sharing model which allows businesses greater freedom and flexibility.

 

The Building Engineering Academy also supports the development of the adult workforce. We recognize that training and development of your staff is an essential component of winning new business, and that a business which invests in their staff is well placed to win contracts on quality, and not just price.
